MUSIC!!!!!!!

Ok, so I'm still not sure which video I'm going to choose because there are soooo many I LOVE!!! So hold on and let me go decide.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7p0z1y5mg_E

Okay, so this is the song I picked, not so much the video, but the song is. .awesome!!! It's one of my favorites. It's got an awesome beat and it really gets me feeling musical.

I love this site. I have an account on here and I use it, at least three times a day. No lie. I really don't dislike anything, or find anything fascinating other then the fact that I can favorite lots and lots of videos!!! Anyhow, we can post videos about the library like information and classes and training. Should prove to be interesting.

bum bum bum. . .

aaaaaaaand now there's nothing to do cause nothing else has been posted.

*rocks back on heels with hands in pockets*

well, later then!!

COLORS!!!!!!!!!!

Ohmigosh!!!!!!
I love the Flickr Color pickr. I have no idea idea if I"m supposed to blog about that, but I'm going to anyways! It's so cool!!!
There's a giant pallet of colors at the center of this black screen, you can choose to make it brighter or darker depending on what looks prettiest to you or how you're feelin. Then click any one of the. ... lots and lots of colors there are and pictures appear all around it in that shade!!!!!! It's so cool!!!!!!!!!
Then again i am easily amused so. . . .that could have something to so with it. It's intriguing!!!!!!

Flickring Flicks!

I got nothing. . . . . check back here for further information.

Okay I lied. Honestly, I don't do photo sharing websites. I've told you the extent of my web-doings: youtube, facebook, myspace, email. That's faaaaaar as it goes.

However (comma) I do like Flickr. It's an interesting website that allows me to look up any image I want and allows me to post my own should I so choose. By using tags i can pull up hundreds to thousands of images that has to do with the topic i type in. Or nothing at all. It really all depends. Sometimes people just post things under random names and titles. . . like em! I'd do that. Just to throw people off. I probably shouldn't admit to that. But hey! Got nothing better to do.

Images on a screen. . .

http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/onblack.php?id=74622934&size=Large

My cousin Ashley was a ballerina. Me and my other cousin Caitlin used to dress up in her old costumes when I went down to Georgia to visit them. I don't know if that's what started my interest in ballerinas or if it's simply the fact that they are graceful and beautiful where I am. . not so graceful and loud. I think this picture is beautiful, black and white, light and shadow.
Flickr I think is fun and easy to use. Almost like photo bucket, except you can see other peoples pictures as well.

Music, games, and. . . ..books.

I kinda like the web 2.0 awards. That is a downright nifty list of fun things to do. I went to games and messed around a little with those, then went to Biblio and checked out some books that I liked but were out of print. :D Biblio is wicked cool. You can either look up the book you're looking for by title or author or both. Or you can just look under the genre and then under sub-genres. For instance I looked up Romance, cause I'm a sucker for a good love story. So I clicked on Romance and that pulled up specifics. Series, Teen Romance, Vampire Romance, Gothic, Victorian, Medieval everything!!! Ah, it's so cool. So that's that then!

techno-what?!?!?

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to Technorati. I mean i have the general idea of what to do, but the technorati format shown on the youtube video and the one I went to are two completely different things. So.... I'm not really sure what to do at this point in time so. Tootles!

Later: Ahhhhhh, Ok I got it now. As fun as all that is, i think i'll just stick to what i know and can do well. ;)

It's so Delicious. . . .

Yeeeaaaahhhh.

So Del.icio.us. is definitely one of the more interesting things I've come across. Let me tell you what though, that will make researching for papers and reports so much easier. not to mention just to look up things you're curious about. I like it. I think that this definitely has potential to become one of the greatest researching toys we've yet to create. So. . .i'm all for it!!!

Personal space, dude. Personal space.

So, myspace is pretty fun. It's alot harder to use then Facebook, but it's easier then not having one at all. I don't know how many times i was asked if i had a myspace and every time i said no they looked at me and said " . . .oh."
I think the reason people have Myspaces is it's a way to connect. It's a way to share jokes and pictures and videos and talk to friends and family and have fun with it. It's like decorating my room the way I want it, it's mine. It is my space. Not his. Not hers. Mine. I think it's nifty anyways, but try for yourself.

It's myspace. . .get your own!!!

When it comes to Online Social Networking, I have to say I'm rather fond of it. I'm a product of Generation @, I have both a Myspace and a Facebook and get online to check them daily. I'm my house the computer is the most fought over thing next to the remote. The four of us, (my sibs and I) ages ranging from 17-8 all get online and have some sort of OSN.
Schools are cautious when it comes to Social networking. Though most of the topics center around education, politics, religion, and creativity is encouraged and imagination explored, there's always that one chance that someone will use these magnificent powers for evil rather then good. Inappropriate language, pictures, online bullying is always a concern. There's also the concern for adults wondering just who their kids are talking too.
Libraries setting up a social network really couldn't do anything but help at this point in time. Teens, (myself included), spend so much time on the internet now they'd be more likely too connect with the library online for things, then actually come to the library. I'm not saying all, but a pretty good portion, so. . ..
those are my thoughts.

Reading and writing. . .

So i just finished adding my favorite book to the Staff picks, and it was soo much fun. Yeah it took a couple of tries to figure out how everything worked but i got it and eventually i was done!!!!!
It's a lot of fun, seeing what others are reading or doing, and sharing your own experiences with books and what not. I kinda like it!! ;)
Gwahahahahaha!

Ok, for real now.

So today I explored the wonderful world of wiki's. Ok, so maybe I didn't think they were oh so wonderful, but I mean I'm 17 years old. To me, a website is a website is a website, wiki or no. However, I will admit that they can be rather useful. I'm rather fond of the Book lovers wiki. That was fun. I rather like seeing what others are reading and whether or not they liked it, cause if they do, I might too.

Ummmm. . . . . . applicationsapplicationsaplications. Hmm. ..hold on. Give me one sec and I'll have somethin for ya! I gotta take a peek at those wikis again. OKokok, I got one. I relly like the meebo thing. I like the idea of IMing someone who can help you out without you actually leaving your house. I think what we have on the library web site is good. . . .

Librarians talk. . .

OK,
So I've talked to a librarian via IM and i have to say it's FABULOUS!!! I absolutely love this. It's fast, user friendly, they're great, finding exactly what you want. I have to say I think this is the neatest thing since sliced bread!!!!! Ah, i'm so totally stoked right now, it's so amazingly awesome. A most outstanding mix.

Talk to me. ..

Okay,
So there are pros and cons when it comes to IMing. Cons- workers could take advantage of it talking when they shouldn't about things they shouldn't during working hours and taking away from their actual work. On the other hand, even thought it could be misused it has the possibilty to be a great asset to the library. Rather then caliing on the phone waiting. . waiting. .. waiting to be put on hold or given a busy signal is very tedious. I'm at home and i have a question about when the Library opens, where i could find this particular book if i come in later that day, what programs are coming up and for what ages. Honestly i'd rather have to log on the computer then try to locate my phone and the library number. These days technology is everything, teens and adults are using the computer more and more, texting their friends and family rather then calling. I'd say more of our patrons are online then not.
Heck! I'm online more often then not, IMing is the biggest way i stay in touch with friends. Email can take forever to send and recieve and calling is just. . No. I don't want to call. I'm lazy.
So there you have it. .. in a nutshell.

Checkin it out. . .

So, at first I just picked a random topic just to test out which tool I liked best. So I checked to see how the Pats were doing. !3-0 baby!!! and we're number one!!!!! *clears throat*

So I basically tried all of them to see which I liked best. Topix was my favorite. It pulled up so many different feeds and articles and was sooo easy. The hardest was prbably Feedster. And that was probably because it didn't even come up. And then Syndic8 was a pain in the rear. Not to mention it wasn't friendly looking so I really didn't even want to use it. With Topix you can look up everything from Entertainment to Politics to Sports and everything in between!!

Rsssssss

Alright. . . .

So I've been checking out RSS and I have to say it's pretty cool. ALmost like a My space or face book with ten different languages, podcast, weather, comics, not to mention you can search for anything and have clippings come up that actually have to do with whatever you're looking up. (And it's free!)

You know if it weren't for the fact that I really don't surf the web much and find interesting things to read about or read blogs, I'd use it. Truly I would. But quite honestly I visit four websites on a regualar basis. Three are email and friend related, the other youtube. So i really don't need one. However, it's a pretty nifty feature.

Playing on the Web. . . .2 pts at a time.

Web 2.0. . . . .what can I say?

At first I wasn't to excited about it. I kinda rolled my eyes and nodded while smiling saying "uh huh, Sure i'll do it. . . .not."

BUT, I will say that after a bit of time and several conversations later I wasn't so against it. Sure it sis take me a really really really long time to finally get around to this, but Hey! I got around to it.

I'm enjoying all the different things i'm learning how to do. So. . .. yeah!

Habits 1, 2, and 7 1/2

So,
There are seven different habits when it comes to lifelong learning.

1.Begin with the end in mind.
2.Accept responsibility for your own learning.
3.View problems as challenges.
4.Have confidence on yourself as a competent, effective learner.
5.Create your own learning tool box.
6.Use technology to your advantage.
7.Teach and mentor others.
71/2. PLAY!!!

After much thought and contemplation I've decided that the easiest habit for me is probably 7 1/2. What can I say it just comes naturally I suppose. The hardest one however is number 3. Whenever a problem comes up in my learning I tend to panic. With panic comes self-doubt and frustration and sometimes tears if i don't get it right the first time, or completely bomb something. But, I can say that I'm working on it and have been doing better. :D
